Are you the owner of an aggressive dog?  Over 4 million people are bitten by dogs every year in the United States.  Of the 4 million people bitten at least half of them are children.  Being the owner of an aggressive dog is no fun.   An aggressive dog possibly can lead to lawsuits and pure aggravation.  Many pet owners are faced with the possibility of putting the dog down or just giving it away.  Our pets are like our children.  We should try everything we can to help them.  If you are dealing with an aggressive dog, I suggest you do what you can to help your beloved canine.

There are a number of great books out there that will assist you.  The first book, How to Right a Dog Gone Wrong:   A Road Map for Rehabilitating Aggressive Dog by Pamela Dennison.  This book will help with dogs that have show aggression.  The book explains the causes of aggression and explains the different ways to deal with it.  The book also has a step by step guide on rehabilitating your dog.  The program has been used to successfully rehabilitate hundreds of dogs.

The next book I also recommend is the Click to Calm: Healing the Aggressive Dog by Karen Pryor. This book gives you strategies on how to alter your pet’s aggressive behavior. There are a number of strategies you can use through out the book to help keep your pet calm under almost any circumstance.

A third and final book I would recommend to any owner of an aggressive dog is Aggression in Dogs:  Practical Management, Prevention & Behavior Modification by Brenda Aloff.  This book has a lot of good practical advice on how to prevent aggression.  The book has helpful information that will assist you in modifying your dog’s behavior in very practical easy ways.  This book comes highly recommended.
